  4. 04

    Transit & updates

A delivery window in writing and a coordinator who answers the phone while your truck is on the road.

  5. 05

What counts as an interstate move?

Any move that crosses a state line, such as Houston to Atlanta or Houston to Denver. Interstate moves are regulated by the federal FMCSA. Moves that stay within Texas, even long ones, are regulated by the Texas DMV.

How do I check that an interstate mover is legitimate?

Every interstate household goods mover must have a USDOT number. Look it up on the FMCSA SAFER system, read the mover's public reviews, and be wary of anyone who demands a large cash deposit or won't give you a written estimate.

What paperwork will I receive?

A written estimate, the FMCSA "Your Rights and Responsibilities When You Move" booklet, an order for service, an inventory of your belongings and a bill of lading. We explain each one before you sign.

How long does an interstate move take?

Regional moves of roughly 250 to 1,000 miles typically take two to four business days. Coast-to-coast moves typically take five to ten. Your delivery window is confirmed in writing.

What protection do I get if something is damaged?

Basic released-value protection is included and pays 60¢ per pound, per item. Full-value protection covers repair, replacement or current value up to the amount you declare. You can file a written claim within nine months of delivery.

Can I move plants or food across state lines?

Live plants usually can't go on an interstate move because some states restrict them at the border, and perishable food isn't allowed. Hazardous items like propane, gasoline and paint are also prohibited. You'll get a full list with your estimate.

Do you require a deposit?

No. There's no deposit to book. You pay after delivery and your final walkthrough.
